The number of women who choose to travel alone has phenomenally increased in the past ten years.
Just because you don’t have a travel partner ready doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a vacation. There is a growing market for woman solo travelers and hotels, tour operators and other companies in the industry recognize that they have to take care of women traveling alone.
In addition to conventional city breaks and beach holidays, there is a fantastic selection of active holidays that offer the opportunity to be with like-minded travelers. After traveling alone many times, these are the best tips for female solo travel.
Before you go
So you can relax and enjoy your trips, planning all aspects of your trip. Organize the information in your itinerary and keep it handy when traveling. You can find all the information you need online. For example, find out which airport terminal you are flying from. Check out Google Earth to see what area your hotel is in.
Packaging
Travel light. Although most airlines allow at least 20 kg of checked baggage and hand baggage, can you easily transport it? Don’t forget that you may need to go up and downstairs at train stations and airports. Think about what to wear when traveling. Is it comfortable? You may have to go a long way at some airports, maybe you will regret these killer heels! Pack light, wrinkle-free clothing. A toilet paper is a must for some goals!
Where to stay
It seems that the most common advice you will find when researching solo travel online is to stay in a hostel or other communal living establishment, as these lend themselves to meeting people quickly and relatively easily.
Well, I don’t agree, I value my vacations and I hate being crowded places and sharing my bathroom.
Many solo travel tips focus on how to meet people, but this can be counterproductive—there was a reason you chose to travel alone, after all. Many folks who travel in big groups yearn for a moment or two by themselves; you don’t have that problem, so enjoy it!
Photography packing
When it comes to solo travel photography, your tripod is your BEST FRIEND. It acts as your extra set of arms so you can be hands-free and have the freedom to do whatever the heck you want in your photos. It also keeps your shot super steady which means a crisper image. I have two tripods that I love:
Get Yourself a Remote Shutter ( maybe 2)
who is going to take your pictures right?
Use a GoPro on a selfie stick
Safety
Losing your things is an annoyance, so don’t let it ruin your vacation. Take out good travel insurance and read the fine print to make sure you have the best coverage.
Carry your money, documents and passport in a bag with a strap on your body. Or consider a money belt that also has room for your passport. Remember that backpacks and rucksacks are easy to put in your pockets. Hold your bag in busy areas and avoid very quiet streets where there are no other pedestrians.
What to Do By Yourself on Vacation
I get this question all the time.

For starting Understand how travel contributes to happiness. I find that once I understand the why of something it’s easier to follow through and do it.
Traveling solo changed my life and is the single greatest gift I’ve ever given myself. Rather than making up excuses not to travel by waiting around for someone I staring doing my self and I saw over 100 countries
Be patient.
It can be difficult to arrive in a new city alone. Take your time. Take a day to relax, watch the city function, and settle in.
If there’s a pool or a beach nearby, you can easily enjoy a little relaxation on your own. Lay out in the sun (with sunscreen!), go for a swim, and enjoy the weather. You won’t be the only one on your own, because who needs a companion to lay on the beach? No one.
Go on a Walking Tour
Walking tours are a great way to get to know a city, a neighborhood, or focus on a specific type of thing within your destination. It might be a tour of the city, or it might be about the architecture, food, or points of interest. It’s easy to join a walking tour on your own and become part of a group.
Go on a Hike
Going on a hike is a great way to get fresh air, exercise, and spend some time outdoors while traveling. This is something you can do on your own too! Hiking alone isn’t as scary as it might seem to some people, although I do recommend taking a few precautions. Pick a popular trail where there will be plenty of other people around, and pick a trail that is suited to your abilities. If you don’t want to go totally alone, you can often find guided treks and group hikes to join in on as a solo traveler.
Travel Alone and Go Out at Night
Safety first
Some people are concerned about going out at night alone. It’s such a shame as it can be a great time. Before getting on to what to do at night, I want to mention a few safety tips on how to go out at night.
- Plan your transportation wisely. If it’s light out when you go you likely won’t need a taxi to get there, but traveling back by taxi when it’s dark is advisable.
- Confirm that it’s safe. Before leaving, ask your concierge or the desk clerk whether the place you’re planning to go to is fun and safe.
- Stay sober. Drink very responsibly so that you have your wits about you.
- Leave a note. In your hotel room leave a note as to where you’ve gone and when you expect to be back.
- Connect with the staff. Chat with the bartender or your server. They’ll have your back.
- Be a bit coy. If a conversation starts, introduce yourself with your first name only. Leave by yourself and by taxi and don’t tell people where you’re staying.
- Keep your valuables safe. Know where your purse is – or better yet, don’t carry one.
- Consider a dinner/show. Cabarets and dinner show usually have seating plans. You’ll know you’ll be seated with other people.
Personal security and male care
Check out the right clothes at your destination or for tours you plan while you’re there and pack accordingly. Please note that flirting or provoking vary depending on the social norms at the selected destination. The law in other countries is different, which can be seen as a provocation or even approval. Wearing a wedding ring is an internationally known deterrent to grooming men if you wish.
Do a lot of research beforehand. Search local online forums and ask questions. Ask for advice on restaurants, hotels, unreliable areas, sights, etc., as well as local customs.
The better you prepare, the more comfortable you feel when traveling and this will be shown. If you are nervous, insecure, and completely confused, people can recognize you a mile away. A little knowledge gives you a certain advantage and protects you.
