The Capital of Czech Republic
Prague is a beautiful European capital, with lots of history, good food, cheap beers and nice buildings. For
many people is one of the best cities in the world, and it is for sure one of Europe’s most popular destinations.
It has plenty of things to do and see. Apart from the ancient buildings, its medieval streets, the Castle of Prague, the city has a nice mix of culture, nightlife, green areas and an attractive charm that make
many tourists come back.
Let’s review some of the many things you can do in Prague.
- Wonder about the Old Town Square
Prague has a long history of invasions but it seems that this square has remained untouched from the 10th
entry. This square offers a beautiful concentration of the stunning architecture typical of Prague and it is
often animated with street performers, markets and musicians. You can also go to the Town Hall and watch the beautiful and ancient mechanical clock strike an hour.
- Walk Through Charles Bridge
This is probably one of the most popular things tourists find themselves doing. By walking across Charles
Bridge you can get a beautiful view of the city. It connects the Old Prague Centre with Mala Strana
(meaning “Little Side”) which is the “new” part of the town. Despite the many visitors the bridge will most
probably have, it is definitely worth to see it.
- Take a visit to Prague Castle
This castle is without any doubt a popular attraction in the city and a well-known landmark of Prague. Its
gothic architecture, the details and park surrounding it, make it a very charming place. The entrance to the
castle is free but if you want to visit the Basilica of St George, the Golden Lane or St Vitus, you’ll have to
purchase a ticket.
- See the Rebellious Side of Prague
If you want to see some street art, then head to John Lennon Wall. It is filled with many graffitis and
inspiring quotes. The wall has been the location of many political protests and it constantly changes its
appearance.
- Grab A Beer and Enjoy the Vlatava River
Among both tourists and locals, this is a very common thing to do, especially during the summer. Usually,
the river banks are filled with young people drinking the local cheap beer and mingle with them is a good
way to get local tips on Prague! Additionally, you’ll get quite a nice view and there are plenty of cruises
which you can join.
