Palace of Pena
The Pena Palace is a Romanticist castle in São Pedro de Penaferrim, in the municipality of Sintra, on the Portuguese Riviera. The castle stands on the top of a hill in the Sintra Mountains above the town of Sintra, and on a clear day it can be easily seen from Lisbon and much of its metropolitan area
How to get to Sintra and how much it costs?
How to get from Lisbon to Sintra? Its very easy. If you are staying in the center of Lisbon, and unless you have rented a car, the best way to get to Sintra from Lisbon is by train:
Head to Rossio Station (between the homonymous square and Restauradores Square) and go up to the top floor
(there are automatic stairs);
Unless you have a Lisbon Card, you can purchase a Viva Viagem with the "Zapping" modality (see this Transport page). With Zapping each trip costs 1.25 €;
Although the timetable can vary with the season or time of day, in general the train trip to Sintra takes about 30 minutes (this is the last station).
From Sintra center to Palace Pena

Grab a Tuk Tuk for 5 euro (no more)
Uber about 7.00 euros.
Best time to visit:
late afternoon (5PM), when crowds are already done.
